Pressure Mounts by Youth in Kaduna State for Yerima Shettima to Declare Candidacy for the 2027 Elections

By Abdul-Azeez Suleiman

In the heart of Nigeria’s northern region lies Kaduna State, a melting pot of diverse cultures, ethnicities, and political ideologies. As the nation gears up for the 2027 elections, a palpable sense of urgency and enthusiasm can be felt, particularly among the youth. This demographic, which constitutes a significant portion of the population, is increasingly rallying around one figure: Yerima Shettima. A charismatic leader with a proven track record of youth engagement and advocacy, Shettima has become the focal point of a burgeoning movement urging him to declare his candidacy for the upcoming elections. The calls for his declaration are not merely a reflection of personal admiration; they signify a broader demand for a transformative leadership that resonates with the aspirations of the young populace.
In recent months, social media campaigns, grassroots mobilizations, and public demonstrations have surged in Kaduna State, all echoing a singular message: “We want Yerima Shettima to run!” This movement is fueled by a collective desire for representation that reflects the hopes and concerns of a generation often sidelined in political discourse. The youth, who are increasingly aware of their power as voters and change-makers, see Shettima as a leader who understands their struggles—be it unemployment, education, or social justice.
The youth in Kaduna State are not just passive supporters; they are active participants in shaping the political environment. Their engagement reflects a growing trend across Nigeria, where young people are asserting their rights and demanding accountability from their leaders. This shift is particularly significant in a state like Kaduna, which has experienced its share of socio-political challenges, including ethnic tensions and security issues. The youth’s demand for Shettima to declare his candidacy is, therefore, not just about individual preference; it is about a vision for a more inclusive and responsive governance that prioritizes their needs.
Yerima Shettima’s appeal lies in his charisma and his ability to connect with the youth on a personal level. As a prominent youth leader, he has championed various initiatives aimed at empowering young people, including skill acquisition programs, advocacy for education, and campaigns against youth unemployment. His commitment to these causes has earned him respect and admiration, positioning him as a relatable figure who embodies the aspirations of the youth.
Moreover, Shettima’s leadership style is characterized by inclusivity and engagement. He actively listens to the concerns of young people and incorporates their feedback into his initiatives. This participatory approach has fostered a sense of ownership among the youth, making them feel that their voices matter in the political arena. As he continues to consult and deliberate on his potential candidacy, the youth remain hopeful that he will ultimately choose to run, believing that his leadership could usher in a new era for Kaduna State.
For any political candidate, particularly one emerging from a grassroots movement, the guarantee of mass support is crucial. The youth in Kaduna State are not merely calling for Shettima to declare his candidacy; they are also demanding a commitment to the principles of transparency, accountability, and inclusivity. They want assurances that their interests will be prioritized and that their voices will be heard in the corridors of power.
This demand for a solid guarantee of mass support underscores the need for Shettima to engage in comprehensive consultations with various stakeholders, including youth groups, civil society organizations, and community leaders. By doing so, he can solidify his base and demonstrate that his candidacy is not just a personal ambition but a collective movement aimed at addressing the pressing issues facing the state.
As the 2027 elections approach, the pressure mounts for Yerima Shettima to declare his candidacy, fueled by the fervent support of the youth in Kaduna State. This movement represents a significant shift in the political landscape, highlighting the growing influence of young people in shaping Nigeria’s future. Shettima’s charisma and commitment to youth empowerment position him as a potential catalyst for change, but the path to candidacy requires careful consideration and engagement with the very constituents who rally behind him. The youth’s call for a solid guarantee of mass support is not just a demand for a leader; it is a clarion call for a new political paradigm that prioritizes the voices of the young and paves the way for a more inclusive and prosperous Kaduna State.

Arewa Forum Defends Information Minister Over Borno Security Remarks, Accuses Media of Misrepresentation

Abuja, Nigeria

The Arewa Forum for Good Governance (AFGG) has thrown its weight behind Nigeria’s Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, amid a heated exchange over recent comments linked to insecurity in Borno State. The defense follows criticism from Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum and Senator Ali Ndume, who accused the minister of downplaying a deadly Boko Haram attack in Damboa and the resurgence of terrorism in the region.

The controversy erupted after media outlets quoted Idris as dismissing concerns about insurgent activities, with headlines such as *“Ignore Zulum, Boko Haram is not taking over Borno.”* Governor Zulum labeled the minister’s purported remarks as “naive,” stressing that the attack on the Damboa-Maiduguri Road—which killed eight people, injured seven, and left 14 others with minor injuries—underscored lingering security gaps.

In a statement signed by its Secretary, Comrade Yushau Mahmood, the AFGG asserted that the minister’s comments were “misrepresented” and taken out of context. The group accused certain media outlets of crafting “sensational headlines” to distort Idris’s stance, arguing that the reports diverted attention from federal efforts to combat insecurity.

“The Minister of Information could not have trivialized the tragic loss of lives in Borno. Governor Zulum’s criticism was based on a media narrative, not the federal government’s official position,” the statement read. It further urged collaboration between Borno authorities and the federal government to address security challenges, warning against “fault-finding” during a crisis.

The forum also rebuked Senator Ali Ndume (Borno South) for his sharp criticism of Idris, including his use of the term “Minister of Misinformation.” The AFGG described the remark as “unbecoming” of a lawmaker familiar with military operations, noting that Ndume, a former House Committee on Army chairman, should recognize the “enormous efforts” made to stabilize the region over the past 20 months.

While acknowledging the severity of insecurity in northern Nigeria, the group called for unity, stating, “This is a time for all stakeholders to work together, not trade blame.” It praised Zulum’s commitment to Borno’s security but expressed concern over his “reactive approach” to media reports.

The Federal Government has yet to issue an official response to the dispute. Meanwhile, the AFGG’s intervention highlights rising tensions over the portrayal of security successes and failures as Nigeria grapples with sporadic insurgent attacks despite military claims of progress.

Background:
Boko Haram and its splinter faction, ISWAP, remain active in northeastern Nigeria, though authorities insist their capabilities have been degraded. The Damboa-Maiduguri Road attack is among several recent incidents raising questions about the efficacy of counterinsurgency strategies. Governor Zulum has frequently criticized federal security operations, advocating for greater regional autonomy in defense matters.

AYCF Rejects False Claims of INEC Chairman’s Removal, Urges National Unity and Focus on Governance

By Chijioke Obi

The Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF) has vehemently condemned the recent spate of rumors alleging the replacement of the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Mahmood Yakubu.

The Arewa group, in a statement issued by its President General, Yerima Shettima, categorically described such claims as ‘fake and mischievous,’ aimed at sowing discord and confusion within the political landscape of our great nation.

Shettima stated that in a time when Nigeria is striving for unity and progress under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the dissemination of such baseless rumors serves no purpose other than to undermine the credibility of our democratic institutions.

The AYCF urged all citizens to recognize these fabrications for what they are: attempts by detractors to destabilize the current administration and distract from its agenda of governance and national development.

“It is crucial for the public to understand that the integrity of the electoral process is paramount to our democracy. The INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, has been at the forefront of ensuring free and fair elections in Nigeria. Any attempt to disrupt this process is an affront to the democratic principles we hold dear.

“We warn those behind these malicious rumors to desist immediately. Such actions are not only irresponsible but also detrimental to the collective aspirations of the Nigerian people. Instead of engaging in the politics of division, we implore all citizens and political actors to allow President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to function smoothly, focusing on policies and initiatives that will foster national growth and development.

“Furthermore, we urge the public to remain vigilant and discerning when it comes to information regarding government appointments and decisions. In this digital age, where misinformation spreads rapidly, it is essential to rely on official announcements from credible sources.

“Any news regarding changes in the leadership of INEC or other significant political developments should only be trusted if it comes from the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) or other verified official channels.”

He posited that as we navigate this critical phase in our nation’s history, let us prioritize unity, progress, and the rule of law.

The AYCF called upon all Nigerians to stand together against the forces of misinformation and to support the efforts of our leaders in building a prosperous future for our country.

The President General said the forum remains committed to advocating for the interests of the youth and the broader Arewa community. “We will continue to monitor the political landscape and engage constructively with all stakeholders to ensure that the voices of our people are heard and respected.”

Tinubu’s Appointment of Ajularin as NNPCL Boss Lauded by Middle Belt Forum

By Mike Odeh James

ABUJA — The Middle Belt Forum (MBF) has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing Engineer Bayo Ajularin as the new Group Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), describing the decision as a testament to national inclusivity and merit-based leadership.

In a press statement issued on Monday, April 8, 2025, and signed by MBF spokesman Luka Binniyat, the Forum expressed heartfelt appreciation to President Tinubu for what it termed a “thoughtful and strategic choice.”

“Mr. Ajularin, a distinguished son of Oke Ode in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, embodies the values of integrity, dedication, and professional competence that abound in the Middle Belt region,” the statement read.

The MBF noted that Ajularin’s deep industry expertise and his exemplary track record make him exceptionally suited to lead the nation’s oil giant.

According to the Forum, Ajularin’s elevation to the top role at NNPCL is not only a personal achievement but also a “source of pride and inspiration for the entire Middle Belt,” and a reflection of the President’s belief in the strength of unity and the nation’s diverse talent pool.

“We are confident that Mr. Ajularin will justify the trust placed in him and contribute significantly to the growth of Nigeria’s hydrocarbon sector, which remains the country’s primary source of revenue,” the statement added.

The Middle Belt Forum reaffirmed its support for the administration’s efforts to strengthen national institutions through competent leadership and inclusive governance.

Calls Grow for Investigation into Defence Minister Badaru Over Alleged Misconduct

By Musa Maye

The Northern Stakeholders Consultative Forum (NSCF) has expressed deep concern over allegations of abuse of office and conflict of interest against the Honourable Minister of Defence, Muhammed Abubakar Badaru, and is calling for a full-scale investigation into the matter.

In a statement issued by its spokesperson, Aliyu Muhammad, the forum urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to initiate a comprehensive probe, reinforcing his administration’s commitment to transparency and the anti-corruption fight.

Muhammad pointed to a recent petition by the Young Guardians of Accountability (YGA), which accuses Minister Badaru of violating federal laws by maintaining private business interests—allegedly including a Bureau de Change—while serving in public office. This, the group says, is a clear breach of legal restrictions that prohibit such conflicts of interest.

While commending President Tinubu’s ongoing anti-corruption efforts, the NSCF emphasized the need for consistency in applying scrutiny across all public officials, regardless of their rank or influence.

“The establishment of a committee to investigate Minister Edu was commendable,” the statement noted. “That same rigor must be applied to Minister Badaru. Selective justice undermines public trust and the credibility of this administration.”

The forum warned that failure to investigate these claims would breed distrust among Nigerians and weaken the government’s anti-corruption credibility.

“We recognize the complexity of the fight against corruption, but the assurance that no one is above the law must be reflected in action, not just words,” the statement read. “This is not merely about ethical governance—it poses a serious national security risk.”

The group argued that a Defence Minister embroiled in financial controversies undermines public confidence in national security leadership. They called on Minister Badaru to step aside while investigations proceed to allow for impartiality.

“This is not just about corruption,” NSCF stated, “it’s about the integrity of our defence system. If true, these allegations could compromise national priorities in favor of personal interests.”

The NSCF concluded by urging President Tinubu to act swiftly and prove that his government’s anti-corruption agenda is not mere rhetoric.

“In these challenging times, the integrity of leadership is paramount. Nigerians are watching, and the credibility of this administration is on the line.”

… Donates N1m Naira for procurement of Educational Activities

Former Lawmaker, who represented Kaduna Senatorial District, Senator Shehu Sani has urged the group of fulanis that visited him for Sallah homage at his Kaduna residence to tell their people to stop banditry, kidnappings and herdsmen violence in the North and other parts of the country.

Shehu Sani,President of the Civil Rights Congress of Nigeria, (CRCN) and leading figure in the struggle for the restoration of democracy in Nigeria, overtly expressed dismay over the tarnished image of the Fulanis over issues of banditry and kidnappings .

“It is unfortunate that most of the Bandits and kidnappers in the North are basically fulanis and that’s the truth you know, but may not like.”he lamented.

Shehu Sani who stated this during the visit by Fulani Group, said its high time, something is done immediately to redeem image of the Fulani ethnic group now because,”The activities of Bandits have destroyed the lives and reputations of even the fulani people.

While urging the group to commence image minding activities to redeem the tarnished image of the ordinary and good fulanis across the country, he stressed,”You have a moral and patriotic duty to tell your people in your own language to stop the criminality of kidnappings and banditry.

“For centuries,Fulanis have been known to be peaceful and accommodating people…why should you allow your ethnic group become a brand for violence?

Speaking further the said He explained: “Today the fulanis that have become a complete nuisance as herdsmen, bandits and as terrorists,it couldn’t have happened .
“The people we failed to educate three to four decades ago ,have today constituted the major problem for the northwest, northern power of Nigeria and for most part of the country in terms of security matters.

“The North is a victim of its own leaders who failed to educate the nomads in our hinterland that today constitute a problem to the security and peace of the country”

“We failed to give them books and pens and now they are chasing us with Guns.

” The Babangida’s nomadic education program was a visionary idea nurtured by the then minister of education professor Jibril Aminu,a fulani man like you and the commission was deliberately starved of funds and left to die.

“Livestock is a multi billion Naira business. The nation must find a way to harness it. The recent establishment of the federal ministry of livestock is a step in the right direction.

“Most of the leading bandits in Niger state; Zamfara State , Kaduna State have never hidden their identity as fulanis. They killed imams; pastors, Muslims and Christians they even kill leaders of Miyetti Allah.

“Unfortunately, the attack that happened in School of Agric. mechanisation the families paid over 300 million naira;the attack that happened in Bethel Baptist School, the families paid over 250 million naira and the attack that happened in Green Field University, the families paid over 400 million naira as ransom

“Think of the ransom that was paid for Federal Government College ,Yawuri, Government Science College,Kagara, Girls Schools in Jangibe and kankara ,think of all those ransom.

“If you put it together in bulk, it’s in billions Fulanis have collecting billions as ransom but, you can’t see one Fulani man in the whole of this Kaduna with one million naira ,so what takes the money .

“If you are involved in extortion you ought to have been seen the fulanis with wealth, cars businesses and other assets, but none .Today the fulanis are poorer than before the era of banditry.

“Before Fulanis took to banditry you will see a fulani with over a thousand vows .Now however many fulanis have cows, few. So, it means that there is a possibility that the your people ,the fulanis are used as foot soldiers by some forces that are unknown.

“All the bandits when they are arrested you see wretched look ,they don’t even have clothes to wear food to eat .No homes .”
Earlier in his speech, the group leader of the Fulani group, Hassan Lamido thanked Shehu Sani for the warm reception accorded during the Sallah homage and solicited support of funds to procure educational materials for onward distribution to young fulani children in Giwa and Birnin -Gwari local government areas of Kaduna State.

Lamido, who disclosed why the group was established, said the campaign to Create awareness for the “Back to School” amongst the Fulanis was informed by the relative peace achieved and importance of education for development.

Shehu Sani however, donated one million Naira as support for immediate procurement of the educational materials requested.

AYCF Demands Justice, Compensation for Victims of Plateau Killings

By Niniola Yenetu

The Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF) has strongly condemned the recent brutal killings of innocent residents in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State, describing the incident as a senseless act of violence that has left numerous families in mourning and entire communities devastated.

In a statement released by its President General, Alhaji Yerima Shettima, the AYCF lamented the recurring attacks on innocent citizens and called on the government to take immediate and decisive action to halt the bloodshed.

A Call for Justice and Government Action

The AYCF emphasized that the killings in Plateau State were not only a violation of human rights but also a glaring reflection of the growing insecurity in the country. The organization insisted that the perpetrators of the heinous act must be apprehended and made to face justice.

“The pain and trauma caused by such violence cannot be understated,” Shettima stated. “It is imperative that the government prioritizes the safety of its people by implementing comprehensive security reforms.”

Demands for Compensation

Beyond seeking justice, the AYCF called on the government to provide adequate compensation for the victims’ families. The forum insisted that although nothing could truly make up for the loss of human lives, financial support was crucial to help survivors rebuild their lives.

“We demand that the government establish a special fund to support the victims,” the statement read. “This should cover medical aid, psychological support, and financial compensation for the families of those who have lost their loved ones.”

Solidarity with Plateau State

The AYCF also extended condolences to the people of Plateau State and the Governor, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, expressing grief over what it described as yet another avoidable bloodbath.

The organization reiterated its stance that the government must do more to prevent such tragedies and ensure the safety and dignity of every Nigerian citizen.

“This is not just a call for justice; it is a call for compassion, accountability, and collective responsibility,” Shettima added.

As the nation mourns yet another tragic loss of innocent lives, the question remains—will the authorities take decisive action, or will this cycle of violence continue unchecked?

AYAGL Smear Campaigns Against Defence Minister

By Remi Mark

The Arewa Youths Assembly for Good Leadership (AYAGL) has strongly condemned recent attempts to tarnish the image of the Minister of Defence, Abubakar Badaru, describing them as politically motivated attacks aimed at undermining the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The group warned that such smear campaigns would not be tolerated.

In a statement issued by the Speaker of the Assembly, Comrade Abdul Danbature, AYAGL stated that these unfounded allegations seek to discredit a leader who has demonstrated unwavering dedication to national security and the well-being of Nigerians.

“Minister Badaru’s leadership at the Ministry of Defence has been characterized by professionalism, transparency, and a clear vision for enhancing national security,” the statement read.

The group emphasized that Badaru has remained committed to tackling Nigeria’s security challenges, strengthening the military, and ensuring that the armed forces are well-equipped to confront evolving threats. His leadership, they noted, has played a crucial role in keeping the Nigerian military one of the most formidable forces in the region.

Commitment to Military Modernization

AYAGL highlighted one of Badaru’s key achievements as the successful implementation of strategic initiatives to modernize Nigeria’s military infrastructure.

“Through his foresight, the Ministry has seen improved coordination between the military and other security agencies, leading to better operational efficiency and more effective security management. This level of coordination is critical as it enhances the ability of our forces to respond to both internal and external threats with greater precision and speed.”

Welfare of Soldiers a Priority

The group also praised Badaru’s efforts in prioritizing the welfare of soldiers, stressing that a well-equipped and motivated military is essential for national security.

“His leadership has helped secure improved funding for the military, ensuring they have access to necessary resources, such as equipment, medical support, and training, to effectively carry out their duties,” the statement added.

Strengthening Diplomatic Ties

Beyond military affairs, the group acknowledged Minister Badaru’s crucial role in strengthening Nigeria’s diplomatic ties with neighboring countries and international partners. Recognizing that security threats often transcend borders, they said his strategic approach to regional cooperation has reinforced Nigeria’s position as a leader in African peacekeeping efforts and regional stability.

Condemnation of Smear Campaigns

Expressing concern over the recent attacks on the Minister, AYAGL labeled them as baseless and counterproductive.

“It is therefore troubling to witness the recent smear campaigns aimed at tarnishing his image. These efforts are not only unfounded but also detract from the significant strides made under his leadership. Instead of focusing on the positive outcomes and the progress achieved, these groups choose to engage in disinformation and personal attacks. Their actions serve no purpose other than to destabilize the important work that Minister Badaru is undertaking on behalf of the Nigerian people.”

The statement further accused those behind the attacks of having ulterior political or personal motives, warning that such campaigns only serve to divide the nation and distract from crucial security efforts.

“We firmly believe that these attacks are motivated by ulterior political or personal agendas. Such campaigns only seek to divide and distract the nation from the critical work of strengthening our security infrastructure. It is important to recognize that those behind these baseless allegations do not have the best interests of Nigeria at heart, as they undermine the ongoing efforts to ensure a safer and more secure environment for all Nigerians.”

Call for Public Support

The AYAGL urged Nigerians to disregard the negative narratives and instead rally behind Minister Badaru, recognizing his dedication to national security and stability.

“We, therefore, call on all well-meaning Nigerians to rise above the rhetoric and remain steadfast in support of Minister Abubakar Badaru. His leadership is focused on ensuring peace and stability across the country, and his unwavering dedication to his role should be celebrated, not undermined. The progress that has been made should be seen as a testament to his hard work and commitment to a brighter future for our nation.”

To those behind the smear campaign, Danbature urged them to reconsider their actions and prioritize the collective good of the nation.

“It is time to put aside political or personal differences and focus on what truly matters: the safety, security, and prosperity of Nigeria and its citizens. The work of the Ministry of Defence, under the guidance of Minister Badaru, is integral to the success of our nation, and we must all support him in this important mission.”

Vote of Confidence in Minister Badaru

Concluding the statement, AYAGL passed a vote of absolute confidence in Minister Abubakar Badaru, emphasizing that his leadership, integrity, and dedication to service remain invaluable to Nigeria’s security efforts.

“Nigeria’s future is brighter with leaders like Minister Badaru at the helm of our defense efforts,” the group affirmed.

Mele Kyari’s Legacy: Northern Awareness Network Urges New NNPCL Leadership to Sustain Reforms

By Ochagwue Odeh

The Northern Awareness Network (NAN) has extended its heartfelt congratulations to Mele Kyari as he transitions into retirement after a distinguished tenure as the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).

In a statement issued by its Chairman, Salihu Suleiman, NAN commended Kyari for his visionary leadership, which has transformed NNPCL, revitalized the oil sector, and laid a solid foundation for Nigeria’s economic future.

“Mele Kyari’s tenure is marked by a profound commitment to reform, transparency, and sustainability,” the statement read.

His leadership coincided with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ambitious economic reforms, both of which embody a shared vision for a more prosperous Nigeria.

The alignment of their objectives, NAN noted, was instrumental in reshaping the landscape of Nigeria’s oil sector, steering it towards economic independence and operational efficiency.

One of the most notable achievements under Kyari’s leadership was the successful settlement of a $2.4 billion debt with international oil companies (IOCs).

NAN described this as a significant milestone that lifted a major financial burden and positioned NNPCL as a debt-free entity, fully prepared for sustainable investment and growth.

“This achievement is a testament to Kyari’s strategic foresight and dedication to fostering a robust economic environment,” NAN stated.

His tenure also witnessed the complete removal of fuel subsidies, a bold move that, while initially challenging, has liberated resources and opened avenues for investment.

The reform, according to NAN, created a more stable economic landscape, allowing NNPCL to focus on its core activities, such as improving gas infrastructure and expanding renewable energy efforts.

“These initiatives reflect Kyari’s understanding of Nigeria’s broader economic potential and his commitment to positioning the nation as a regional energy leader,” NAN emphasized.

Furthermore, NAN highlighted Kyari’s extensive experience in the oil industry, noting that his leadership under multiple administrations earned him the trust of various leaders.

His ability to transform NNPCL into a limited liability company significantly improved its financial stability and operational efficiency.

“The remarkable strides made under his leadership have not only enhanced Nigeria’s energy security but have also attracted foreign direct investment (FDI), with a historic milestone of $17 billion achieved during his tenure,” the group noted.

NAN credited Kyari’s strategic initiatives for tackling critical challenges that had long plagued Nigeria’s oil sector, including crude oil theft, infrastructure decay, and investment constraints.

Through his reforms, he bolstered oil and gas production, secured energy supply, and improved operational efficiency.

“By implementing these strategic measures, Kyari has laid the groundwork for a more resilient and prosperous oil industry,” NAN added.

As Kyari steps into retirement, NAN expressed profound gratitude for his contributions and unwavering dedication to the betterment of Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.

“We wish him all the best in his future endeavors, confident that his legacy will continue to inspire and guide the new management of NNPCL,” the statement said.

Looking ahead, NAN expressed optimism that the incoming leadership would build upon the reforms initiated by Kyari and President Tinubu, ensuring that transparency, efficiency, and sustainability remain at the forefront of NNPCL’s agenda.

“The path forward is filled with opportunities, and it is imperative that the new management embraces the vision established by Kyari to ensure the continued growth and development of Nigeria’s oil sector,” NAN stated.

The group reaffirmed its commitment to supporting ongoing efforts to enhance Nigeria’s energy sector, emphasizing that with the right leadership and strategic direction, NNPCL can achieve even greater heights.

“We believe that with visionary leadership, NNPCL can continue to drive Nigeria’s energy security and economic transformation,” NAN concluded.

NAN urged the new leadership to prioritize the completion of ongoing projects, including the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) gas pipeline project.

The group also emphasized the need for increased investment in renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind power, to reduce Nigeria’s reliance on fossil fuels.

In addition, NAN called for greater transparency and accountability in the management of Nigeria’s oil resources, ensuring that the benefits of the sector are equitably distributed among all stakeholders.

The group expressed confidence that with the right leadership and policies in place, Nigeria’s oil and gas sector can continue to drive economic growth and development.

NAN reiterated its commitment to supporting the new leadership of NNPCL, ensuring that the company remains a key driver of Nigeria’s economic development.

The group urged all stakeholders to work together to ensure the continued success of NNPCL, driving economic growth and development for the benefit of all Nigerians.

As Kyari begins his retirement, NAN reflected on his legacy, noting that his contributions to Nigeria’s oil and gas sector will be remembered for generations to come.

The group expressed gratitude to Kyari for his service, wishing him all the best.
