Angry at the recent relocation to Kaduna , Group under umbrella of Ungwar Sarki/Ungwar Rimi Youth Association have cried out over what they termed “Eight Years of Neglect” by Former Muhammadu Buhari’s to Kaduna.

The group comprising residents and organic supporters of within Buhari’s Kaduna residence said it is highly unfortunate that he never considered anyone of them for appointments or employment during his days as President.

In a statement signed by the leader of the group,Mal Musa Ibrahim Usman, Former President Buhari We are most saddened at manner he abandoned the Yahaya Road mosque he used to pray before becoming President.Not even a praying may was sent to support growth and development of the worship place

The group in the statement lamented, “We can’t believe that with all our support over the years ,there is none amongst the neighbors around Ungwar Rimi and Ungwar Sarki that can boast that Buhari either helped them via any appointment with federal government; empowerment programme or any business initiative .

“It is regrettably that Since Buhari won elections in 2015 and left for Abuja as President, he never looked back to same place that helped to be president until after he lost power and became jobless.

Since 2003 when joined politics and ran for President under ANPP Teeming youths followed and supported Buhari wholeheartedly without financial gains

“We were not only surprised,but dissapointed that When the former Governor of Kaduna,Mal .Nasir Elrufai demolished our shops and houses, Buhari never made any attempt to intervene or prevail over the governor.

“People were killed and injured because of Buhari ,but he got power on a platter of gold only to abandon those who supported him to be there.

“We are therefore telling him to go back to his Katsina hometown and forget about any support from us again.”

The Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF) has vehemently condemned the recent spate of rumors alleging the replacement of the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Mahmood Yakubu.

The Arewa group, in a statement issued by its President General, Yerima Shettima, categorically described such claims as ‘fake and mischievous,’ aimed at sowing discord and confusion within the political landscape of our great nation.

Shettima stated that in a time when Nigeria is striving for unity and progress under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the dissemination of such baseless rumors serves no purpose other than to undermine the credibility of our democratic institutions.

The AYCF urged all citizens to recognize these fabrications for what they are: attempts by detractors to destabilize the current administration and distract from its agenda of governance and national development.

“It is crucial for the public to understand that the integrity of the electoral process is paramount to our democracy. The INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, has been at the forefront of ensuring free and fair elections in Nigeria. Any attempt to disrupt this process is an affront to the democratic principles we hold dear.

“We warn those behind these malicious rumors to desist immediately. Such actions are not only irresponsible but also detrimental to the collective aspirations of the Nigerian people. Instead of engaging in the politics of division, we implore all citizens and political actors to allow President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to function smoothly, focusing on policies and initiatives that will foster national growth and development.

“Furthermore, we urge the public to remain vigilant and discerning when it comes to information regarding government appointments and decisions. In this digital age, where misinformation spreads rapidly, it is essential to rely on official announcements from credible sources.

“Any news regarding changes in the leadership of INEC or other significant political developments should only be trusted if it comes from the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) or other verified official channels.”

He posited that as we navigate this critical phase in our nation’s history, let us prioritize unity, progress, and the rule of law.

The AYCF called upon all Nigerians to stand together against the forces of misinformation and to support the efforts of our leaders in building a prosperous future for our country.

ABUJA — The Middle Belt Forum (MBF) has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing Engineer Bayo Ajularin as the new Group Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), describing the decision as a testament to national inclusivity and merit-based leadership.

In a press statement issued on Monday, April 8, 2025, and signed by MBF spokesman Luka Binniyat, the Forum expressed heartfelt appreciation to President Tinubu for what it termed a “thoughtful and strategic choice.”

“Mr. Ajularin, a distinguished son of Oke Ode in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, embodies the values of integrity, dedication, and professional competence that abound in the Middle Belt region,” the statement read.

The MBF noted that Ajularin’s deep industry expertise and his exemplary track record make him exceptionally suited to lead the nation’s oil giant.

According to the Forum, Ajularin’s elevation to the top role at NNPCL is not only a personal achievement but also a “source of pride and inspiration for the entire Middle Belt,” and a reflection of the President’s belief in the strength of unity and the nation’s diverse talent pool.

“We are confident that Mr. Ajularin will justify the trust placed in him and contribute significantly to the growth of Nigeria’s hydrocarbon sector, which remains the country’s primary source of revenue,” the statement added.

The Northern Stakeholders Consultative Forum (NSCF) has expressed deep concern over allegations of abuse of office and conflict of interest against the Honourable Minister of Defence, Muhammed Abubakar Badaru, and is calling for a full-scale investigation into the matter.

In a statement issued by its spokesperson, Aliyu Muhammad, the forum urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to initiate a comprehensive probe, reinforcing his administration’s commitment to transparency and the anti-corruption fight.

Muhammad pointed to a recent petition by the Young Guardians of Accountability (YGA), which accuses Minister Badaru of violating federal laws by maintaining private business interests—allegedly including a Bureau de Change—while serving in public office. This, the group says, is a clear breach of legal restrictions that prohibit such conflicts of interest.

While commending President Tinubu’s ongoing anti-corruption efforts, the NSCF emphasized the need for consistency in applying scrutiny across all public officials, regardless of their rank or influence.

“The establishment of a committee to investigate Minister Edu was commendable,” the statement noted. “That same rigor must be applied to Minister Badaru. Selective justice undermines public trust and the credibility of this administration.”

The forum warned that failure to investigate these claims would breed distrust among Nigerians and weaken the government’s anti-corruption credibility.

“We recognize the complexity of the fight against corruption, but the assurance that no one is above the law must be reflected in action, not just words,” the statement read. “This is not merely about ethical governance—it poses a serious national security risk.”

The group argued that a Defence Minister embroiled in financial controversies undermines public confidence in national security leadership. They called on Minister Badaru to step aside while investigations proceed to allow for impartiality.

“This is not just about corruption,” NSCF stated, “it’s about the integrity of our defence system. If true, these allegations could compromise national priorities in favor of personal interests.”

The NSCF concluded by urging President Tinubu to act swiftly and prove that his government’s anti-corruption agenda is not mere rhetoric.

“In these challenging times, the integrity of leadership is paramount. Nigerians are watching, and the credibility of this administration is on the line.”

Shehu Sani,President of the Civil Rights Congress of Nigeria, (CRCN) and leading figure in the struggle for the restoration of democracy in Nigeria, overtly expressed dismay over the tarnished image of the Fulanis over issues of banditry and kidnappings .

“It is unfortunate that most of the Bandits and kidnappers in the North are basically fulanis and that’s the truth you know, but may not like.”he lamented.

Shehu Sani who stated this during the visit by Fulani Group, said its high time, something is done immediately to redeem image of the Fulani ethnic group now because,”The activities of Bandits have destroyed the lives and reputations of even the fulani people.

While urging the group to commence image minding activities to redeem the tarnished image of the ordinary and good fulanis across the country, he stressed,”You have a moral and patriotic duty to tell your people in your own language to stop the criminality of kidnappings and banditry.

“For centuries,Fulanis have been known to be peaceful and accommodating people…why should you allow your ethnic group become a brand for violence?

Speaking further the said He explained: “Today the fulanis that have become a complete nuisance as herdsmen, bandits and as terrorists,it couldn’t have happened .
“The people we failed to educate three to four decades ago ,have today constituted the major problem for the northwest, northern power of Nigeria and for most part of the country in terms of security matters.

“The North is a victim of its own leaders who failed to educate the nomads in our hinterland that today constitute a problem to the security and peace of the country”

“We failed to give them books and pens and now they are chasing us with Guns.

” The Babangida’s nomadic education program was a visionary idea nurtured by the then minister of education professor Jibril Aminu,a fulani man like you and the commission was deliberately starved of funds and left to die.

“Livestock is a multi billion Naira business.The nation must find a way to harness it. The recent establishment of the federal ministry of livestock is a step in the right direction.

“Most of the leading bandits in Niger state; Zamfara State , Kaduna State have never hidden their identity as fulanis.They killed imams; pastors, Muslims and Christians they even kill leaders of Miyetti Allah.

“Unfortunately,the attack that happened in School of Agric. mechanisation the families paid over 300 million naira;the attack that happened in Bethel Baptist School,the families paid over 250 million naira and the attack that happened in Green Field University,the families paid over 400 million naira as ransom

“Think of the ransom that was paid for Federal Government College ,Yawuri, Government Science College,Kagara, Girls Schools in Jangibe and kankara ,think of all those ransom.

“If you put it together in bulk, it’s in billions Fulanis have collecting billions as ransom but, you can’t see one Fulani man in the whole of this Kaduna with one million naira ,so what takes the money .

“If you are involved in extortion you ought to have been seen the fulanis with wealth,cars businesses and other assets,but none .Today the fulanis are poorer than before the era of banditry.

“Before Fulanis took to banditry you will see a fulani with over a thousand vows .Now however many fulanis have cows, few. So, it means that there is a possibility that the your people ,the fulanis are used as foot soldiers by some forces that are unknown.

“All the bandits when they are arrested you see wretched look ,they don’t even have clothes to wear food to eat .No homes .”
Earlier in his speech, the group leader of the Fulani group, Hassan Lamido thanked Shehu Sani for the warm reception accorded during the Sallah homage and solicited support of funds to procure educational materials for onward distribution to young fulani children in Giwa and Birnin -Gwari local government areas of Kaduna State.

Lamido,who disclosed why the group was established,said the campaign to Create awareness for the “Back to School” amongst the Fulanis was informed by the relative peace achieved and importance of education for development.

Shehu Sani however,donated one million Naira as support for immediate procurement of the educational materials requested.

The Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF) has strongly condemned the recent brutal killings of innocent residents in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State, describing the incident as a senseless act of violence that has left numerous families in mourning and entire communities devastated.

In a statement released by its President General, Alhaji Yerima Shettima, the AYCF lamented the recurring attacks on innocent citizens and called on the government to take immediate and decisive action to halt the bloodshed.

A Call for Justice and Government Action

The AYCF emphasized that the killings in Plateau State were not only a violation of human rights but also a glaring reflection of the growing insecurity in the country. The organization insisted that the perpetrators of the heinous act must be apprehended and made to face justice.

“The pain and trauma caused by such violence cannot be understated,” Shettima stated. “It is imperative that the government prioritizes the safety of its people by implementing comprehensive security reforms.”

Demands for Compensation

Beyond seeking justice, the AYCF called on the government to provide adequate compensation for the victims’ families. The forum insisted that although nothing could truly make up for the loss of human lives, financial support was crucial to help survivors rebuild their lives.

“We demand that the government establish a special fund to support the victims,” the statement read. “This should cover medical aid, psychological support, and financial compensation for the families of those who have lost their loved ones.”

Solidarity with Plateau State

The AYCF also extended condolences to the people of Plateau State and the Governor, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, expressing grief over what it described as yet another avoidable bloodbath.

The organization reiterated its stance that the government must do more to prevent such tragedies and ensure the safety and dignity of every Nigerian citizen.

“This is not just a call for justice; it is a call for compassion, accountability, and collective responsibility,” Shettima added.

The group warned that such smear campaigns would not be tolerated.

“Minister Badaru’s leadership at the Ministry of Defence has been characterized by professionalism, transparency, and a clear vision for enhancing national security,” the statement read.

The Northern Awareness Network (NAN) has extended its heartfelt congratulations to Mele Kyari as he transitions into retirement after a distinguished tenure as the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).

The ward Exco members,who felt abandoned and ignored despite their loyalty and support to the party and Elrufai’s government denied rumours making the rounds that they will join Elrufai in Social Democratic Party (SDP)

In his speech during the visit,the former lawmaker who represented Kaduna Central Senatorial district, Senator Shehu Sani narrated warned them against be deceived to dump APC for SDP.

According to him, how can Elrufai ,who didn’t help them during his 8 years in office as a Governor, do so now ,when his out of power and out of the ruling party.

While appealing to the Ward Exco members to remain in Party and work for Governor Uba Sani during the forthcoming 2027 general elections, he promise to help reach out to Uba Sani Governor to help execute meaningful projects at Ungwar Sarki Ward.

Though the members informed Shehu Sani about their resolve to dump the party over prolonged deprivation , after the meeting today they reversed decision to stay and support Governor Uba Sani.

The Ward Chairman Aliyu Ibrahim lamented, “We (Ungwar Sarki Ward) Exco were neglected for 8 years during the days of Elrufai as Governor. It was really that bad that ‘Not even a dime was given for all our support and loyalty to the party .’

“The people of Kaduna saw how Elrufai neglected us and opted for the likes of Muyiwa Adekeye and other persons outside the State, despite all we did for APC .

“This is part of reasons we come to visit and reassure you and the Governor about our resolve to remain in PC to ensure we work against Elrufai come 2027”.
